芒果是海南仅次于香蕉的重要热带水果。近年来，由于农药的滥用，蓟马已从过去的次要害虫上升为主要害虫。蓟马以若虫、成虫锉吸为害芒果花、叶、芽、幼果，严重影响芒果生长和果实质量。研究调查了海南岛儋州，昌江等7个主要芒果种植区，共采集蓟马成虫标本1241头。经鉴定，得出害虫种类9种，即茶黄硬蓟马Scirtothrips dorsalis Hood、黄胸蓟马Thrips hawaiiensis
